Spring has sprung!

We have managed to find time to promote some of the ambient products for your kitchen cupboards, (a hardy feat in itself) so make sure you check the Offers, New and Seasonal page to find some discounts.

Here is the update on what we are expecting with the fresh produce (commencing 14th May)

The usual fair with roots – Potatoes, Carrots, Onions, Beetroot, with the new arrival of flavoursome Jersey Royal New Potatoes and new season Barbosa Onions

Still struggling to get hold of leafy greens but we have managed to source some Summers Greens Cabbage

There is Broccoli and French Beans with English Asparagus making its first appearance for the Spring

The usual salad items, with the first crop of Isle Of Wight Cherry and Vine Tomatoes, first Uk grown Cucumbers too, Avocado, a traffic light display of Peppers (Red, Yellow and Green) English Lettuce and Radishes in for this week

Lots of English Aubergines, Courgettes and Fennel, ideal for roasting with Red Onions

And there are plenty of fresh spices, Garlic, Ginger and Turmeric with Red Chillies and Green Jalapeno Chillies and Fresh “Wet” Garlic

Fresh herbs are in the mix with Coriander and Flat leaf Parsley

English Apples are all gone now til the autumn, this week we have Dalinette from France and Story Inored from Italy, with new season Abate Fetel, Bosc and Anjou Pears from Argentina

The citrus season is in full swing, with lots of Oranges, Mandarins, Lemons

Fresh Blueberries, Raspberries and Strawberries are on show also, Medjool Dates are back after a short hiatus and Rhubarb has started now too, there are Apricots, Cherries, Nectarines, Mangoes, Galia Melons and Watermelons – at least its summer somewhere
